All American Challenge! RAK included!!!!

Ok, I'm trying again. Another challenge. This time, with some advice from you, I'm giving you from now, until Independance Day! That would be July 4th! lol
In honor of Memorial Day and Independance Day, I want you to create a patriotic layout. It can be about whatever you want, but it must display some sort of patriotism. The more, the better!

I always said that I had "All American Girls", as they were both born near patriotic holidays. Lizzy was born July 6th and Sarah, May 25th. So, they are my American Girls. Here's a layout I did about a year or two ago. It's always been, and still is one of my favorites.

Now it's time for you to create yours! Add a comment to this thread, with a link to your layout. On July 5th, I'll have a drawing (random.com) and if you're picked, you will receive an RAK from me!

Amen to the RED, WHITE, and BLUE!

My Wish

Happy Birthday, Sarah. Today, my little girl turns 5 years old. It may not seem like a big deal to some, but to me, it is. This is my youngest of the two. I will never experience this age level again. The innocence, the imagination, the energy. I wish the best for my little girls as they live their lives...complete with new adventures and experiences.

I hope that days come easy and moments pass slow,
And each road leads you where you want to go,
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,

More then anything, more then anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it,
To your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more then you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
All the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
And you always give more then you take.

Oh More then anything, Yeah, and more then anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it,
To your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more then you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

Just what every princess deserves!

Sarah turns five this weekend, and I knew she would just love one of, my friend, Tiff's tutus. Well, seeing that I have no patience, whatsoever, I gave her the gift, right away. She's the happiest little princess in the world! Let me just say, if you have a little princess in your life, she MUST have one of these. These tutus are like I've never seen before. They're full, fluffy, and so vibrant, and will make any little princess smile. Sarah's favorite color is PINK! So, of course, I had to make sure her tutu's PINK! One of her favorite books is called, "Pinkalicious". This morning, we called her, "Pinkerina". However, Starrtutu's come in a variety of colors and sizes. You can even get one for that special teddy bear. Be sure to check out Tiff's Etsy store at www.Starrtuts.etsy.com
Ok, now that I put that little plug in, here's my little "PINKERINA"

I'm so excited...and I just can't hide it!!

I'm about to lose control and I think I like! lol

I'm gonna be published! Finally, my five minutes of fame! Woohoo! Thanks, to my dear friend, Anita, for giving me the push. I submitted a layout to www.scrapbooking.com , an on-line magazine dedicated to scrappers, like us! Within hours, I heard back and will be in the July issue. I did a layout about Reunions. I wish I could share it with you, but, I'm sorry to say, you'll just have to wait to see it. However, I highly recommend you check this mag out. There are some great ideas in there this month. You have to see these altered birdhouses...omg!

I do, however, have some layouts that I can, finally share with you. Layouts made from this months kit from EBB. Here are two layouts, for now. I have many others.

These kits are great and I still have so much product left to use. So here you go! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

NSD Cropping Update!

Wow, what a fun-filled weekend at EBB. What a day, Saturday turned out to be. I was all set to play all day. The world was great, had some of the chores done early. Logged in and posted the first challenge for the day. I was scheduled to hang out and play for the first couple of hours and planned to do so the remainder of the day. Well, about 9:30 (est) my internet dies. I cried, literally cried. Miserable, I was! I kept trying and nothing, reset the router (too much, but that's another story), etc. Finally, an hour later, I broke down and called Sarah. Thank God we exchanged numbers for that...just in case scenerio. Sarah helped me out and posted my game, and announced to everyone what had happened. I was so depressed all day long. I had planned on doing the EBB Crop and hopping over to AMR to play with them too. Finally after looking things over, I said to Jim, something's not right. I couldn't even see the one network, that I usually see when we're down. That's when it dawned on me, that I think it's the router. He and BIL looked it over and couldnt fix it. In the meantime, my dear friend, Anita, was calling me and keeping me posted. So I did do some scrapping during these hours, but I was too depressed and just couldn't get into it. Eventually, Jim decided to plug me in to the direct source and go around the router! Yay, I'm back on-line around 5:00! Woohoo. Excited again and ready to roll. I was so thrilled when I signed back into EBB. All the wishes I received from such great friends and all the "miss you's" I wanted to cry tears of joy. It made me feel soooo good. I love you guys! Of course, by this time it was way too late to crop with AMR, which I feel really really bad about. I wanted to play with you ladies, too! But, even my scrap-buddy, Kelly, joined us and I think she might have had fun, too! lol. I managed to get several projects done! The challenges were great and we even had a challenge for the Jr. Scrappers (which I don't have pics of yet).
Here's what I did Saturday:
My Challenge:
Comical Song Lyrics & painted chipboard/grungeboard with a never tried before technique.

This one's not from a challenge, did this on my own when I couldn't get on-line.

Anita's "Don't Be A Square Card" Challenge. I made this for a couple of our Jr. Bingo callers for April...Tiff's kids did a great job!

I managed to get two layouts done for Carol's "Use Your Stash" Challenge. For hers, we had to use scraps (2 cardstocks and 2 pp's and 5 embellies).
I love this one of Lizzy!

And these pics of Sarah are too cute!

That was it for Saturday. Plus I helped Liz & Sarah with their challenges, which I'll post during the week. Sunday we spent the day with my grandmother, but got more done, when I got home...two layouts and another card for Anita's challenge! Technically these were finished yesterday.

Sarah's watercolor challenge. This was fun and I will be doing this stuff again!

Tiff's, use a non-scrap related thing on your layout...

And another card...

And I'm still working on Jessica's sewing challenge. I hope to have that card finished today and will post!

I would like to thank Anita and Sarah for the emotional support you girls gave me on Saturday. It wasn't the same, but it really did help. You girls are great and I'm glad to be on the same team with you! Thanks to the rest of EBB for playing and cropping this weekend, too. It was a big success and tons of fun!

National Scrapbook Day!

Happy National Scrapbook Day! Today's dedicated to scrapbooker's all over the country. Did you know that scrapbooking goes back to century's ago. Maybe not in the way we scrapbook today. But even as early as the Renaiscance days, people scrapbooked. Noone really knows how old the scrapbooking tradition really is. Some scrapbooks have been found that date back to the 17th and 18th centuries. The word, "scrapbook" was first discovered in the late 18th ccentruy. It comes from the brightly colored paper called, scrap, that filled the books of that time. These scraps could be collected and purchased from specialty stores today, just as we get our goodies from our LSS (Local Scrapbook Store).

Photographs did not begin to appear in scrapbooks until the mid-19th century, after the Kodak camera became available. The production of photo albums caused the scrapbooking frenzy to decline for quite some time. More people focused on the art of photography instead of the crafting of scrapbooking.

We can thank the Mormon's, specifically, the Christiensen Family, along with other Mormon families for the rise in popularity of modern scrapbooking. It was a requirement by the Church of Latter Day Saints to document their family history.

Nowadays, scrapbooking is the nation's third most popular craft, according to the Craft & Hobby Association.

There are three different kinds of scapbookers...Novice, Intermediate, and Dedicated.

The novice scrapbooker makes up about 17% of the sb population. He/she is introduced to this hobby by a friend or relative. The average, novice scrapbooker owns $095 worth of scrapbookign tools & supplies.

40% of scrapbookers are considered to be intermediate scrapbookers. We're motivated to preserve our memories in a crafty manner. 60% of us have our own scrap space or scrap room in our homes. We spend between 5 and 20 hours a month scrapbooking (I guess that's not me lol). The intermediate scrapbooker may own about $1721 worth of scrapbooking tools and supplies. (definitely not me!)

Then there's the dedicated scrapbooker! Is that you? You make up 43% of the sb market. We're considered the core of the industry..woohoo! We scrapbook simply because we enjoy it! Why not? We have invested approx. $2295 in scrapbooking supplies and 87% of us have our own scrap space. I think I might fall under this category!

Scrapbooking enthusiest are more likely to be females between the ages of 30 and 50 (sorry Scott & E!).

82% have a college degree and on average 50% of us are employed full-time (yep, that's me!)

Famous scrapbookers include
Thomas Jefferson
Mark Twain
Lisa Welchel (Facts of Life)
Rutherford B Hayes
